Another Week, Another Adventure

When answering an advert for free wood, free logs, free whatever. Make SURE you know what you are getting in to.

Advert: Free log, you pick up, mesquite. Free.

What it should have said: We just dropped our 20 year old Mesquite tree and we don’t have a vehicle big enough to get it off the property. Come pick it up and take it away, please. Free. Oh, and if you’re smart, you’ll bring help.

3 massive trunks, 8 unruly branches later and I have approximately 1,000 lbs of mesquite wood sitting in my garage and back yard waiting to be turned into wood craft art. This is going to be fun. Check out the YouTube page to see what I make of it all. That is, after my back stops screaming at me. Those trunks weighed over 300 lbs a piece. I should have gone back for help instead of moving them on my own. My mistake that I won’t make again.
